Find yourself in the heart of this magnificent Old Town of Zadar.
A walking tour includes a visit to the Cathedral of St. Anastasia, the finest example of Romanesque architecture in Zadar which has a notable W front of 1324. It is dedicated to St. Anastasia, whose stone sarchophagus is in the apse to the left of the high altar. Further on your way you will pass close to the Church of St. Donatus which is believed to have been built by the Bishop Donatus on Roman foundations in the beginning of the 9th century. This is most monumental church on the East side of the Adriatic, it is circular in plan, with three naves. To the eastern of the Forum we come to the 16th c. St. Mary church with a romanesque bell-tower built at the beginning of the 12th c. by the Hungarian – Croatian king Koloman.
