Starting from Athens and driving by the coastal Poseidon Avenue for about 70 km all by the sea, we will be crossing the south suburbs of Athens, which makes this journey one of the best around the prefecture of Attica. This drive fills you with beautiful images of the sea glittering from the sunlight along the small sandy beaches.
A necessary stop is the Vouliagmeni Lake with its healing mineral underground springs and its unique beauty.
After an hour we will finally reach the south edge of Attica, Cape Sounio, where the Athenians in 440 BC built the temple of Poseidon, the god of the sea.
Up on the rock where the temple of Poseidon is located, you will enjoy a great open view of the Aegean Sea and probably the best sunset of your life.
