This tour is designed for people interested to learn about the famous battles that took place in the beginning of the 5th century BCE when the vast Persian empire came to punish Athens. The first battle was given in Marathon, where 10000 brave Athenians joined by 1000 Plataeans faced what modern historians estimate 40000 to 50000 Persian soldiers.
Let us guide you to the actual grounds of this glorious battle and learn how the famous Marathon running event originates from here.
Driving you to Marathon is going to be driving on the actual route of the Authentic Marathon and you will see the signs along the way counting the kilometers.
Heading back, you can admire the beautiful Marathon marble dam and the artificial lake which serves as our water reservoir of Athens.
