Explore the ancient city of Athens, the cradle of Western civilization and birthplace of democracy, on a hop-on hop-off, open-top sightseeing tour. Discover the city's 3,000-year history from the vantage point of the top deck of a double-decker bus. Marvel at Athens' ancient ruins, including iconic landmarks like the Acropolis, the Parthenon, the Theatre of Herodes Atticus, the Temple of Hephaestus, and the Ancient Agora.This tour will allow you to experience Athens at your own pace choosing from 24 (Discover), 48 (Essential), or 72-hour (Explore) hop-on hop-off travel passes. You can travel across three routes, each featuring onboard audio commentary in 14 languages. The Athens line takes you to the ancient heart of the city, including the neighbourhoods of Plaka and Monastiraki. Hop off at attractions such as the Temple of Zeus, the Panathenaic Stadium, and the National Archaeological Museum. The Piraeus line takes you to the ancient port city of Piraeus, Greece's largest port and home to a number of archaeological sites. The Riviera line transports you to Glyfada Bay, offering stunning vistas of the Athens Riviera, renowned for its picturesque coastline with sandy beaches, rocky coves, and crystal-clear waters.

Know in advance:

Children up to 4 years old can travel free of charge. All children must be accompanied by an adult
The "Family" ticket option is valid for 2 adults + 2 children
When booking, you'll need to select the date you’d like to hop on the bus. If you’re touring for more than one day, then your ticket must be used across consecutive days, and the date you select at time of booking should be the first day of your tour
Please note that the Discover ticket option (24-hour pass) will only provide you with access to the Athens Line (Grey Route). To ride all the 3 of them, please choose between the Essential (48-hour pass) and the Explore (72-hour pass) ticket options
To redeem your ticket, please present your voucher (printed or on a device) to a uniformed Big Bus Tours staff member at one of the stops; staff will issue a receipt that you'll be able to use to hop on the bus throughout the validity period of your ticket
Big Bus tickets are also valid for use on Open Tour buses
Tour operates between 9am and 6pm. Approximate tour durations for each route are: Athens Line (Grey Route) = 1 hour, 30 minutes (approx.); frequency: every 20 minutes / Piraeus Line (Purple Route) = 1 hour, 15 minutes (approx.); frequency: every 75 minutes / Riviera Line (Green Route) = 1 hour, 50 minutes (approx.); frequency: every 1 hour, 50 minutes
