What To Expect
Take a day out of your sightseeing in Athens to visit the stunning Meteora monasteries on this full-day excursion. You'll be picked up from your hotel and taken to the train station; from here you'll head to Kalambaka, admiring the beauty of the countryside along the way.
Once you've arrived, you'll discover a small town built at the foot of majestic grey rocky cliffs, crowned by the monasteries of Meteora, listed by Unesco as a World Heritage Site. Your English-speaking driver will be waiting for you, holding a signboard with your name on it, and with them, you'll travel to the fascinating monasteries of Kalambaka. At the end of the day, you’ll be transferred back to Kalambaka, and you’ll have some time to explore the town on your own and enjoy a local lunch before heading back to Athens on board the train.
