Next up is Faneromeni Monastery, which boasts great views over the capital and lagoon.Then we'll head along the west coast to Agios Nikitas. This gorgeous village slopes down towards the turquoise sea. It's an ideal spot for a coffee break and a gander in the shops. From here, visit Kathisma beach, where you'll have a couple of hours to swim, sunbathe and relax. Finally, drive to the south coast village of Vassiliki, watching the windsurfers in the bay while chilling at the harbour.

Mixing history, nature and mythology, this full day tour takes you to see some mainland gems, which are only a stone's throw from Lefkada. You'll take photos in Nicopolis, cross the River Acheron by boat and wind up at the pretty seaside town of Parga.After crossing over to mainland Greece, you'll make a photo stop by the Early Christian Walls of ancient Nicopolis. Learn about this ‘City of Victory' and take a few pics before heading to Ammoudia. Here, you'll board a boat and glide on one of the most mythical landmarks of the ancient world – the River Acheron. Legend said it was where the souls of the dead would pass through to Hades and the underworld. It's also home to many species of birds.And finally, you'll reach Parga, known as the ‘jewel of Epirus'. You'll have free time to wander around, head up to the medieval fortress, duck into a taverna for lunch, hit the beach or browse the many jewellers before returning to the island.

Ranking high in the top ten beaches in the Mediterranean, Lefkada's Porto Katsiki beach has to be seen to be believed. You'll be transferred from your resort to the beach where you'll have around three hours to frolic on its bright white sand and swim in water the colour of the sky.

Experience the essence of traditional Greece with a full day trip to the town of Vonitsa. You'll start the day with a visit to Koukoumitsa, a tiny islet adorned with pine trees and connected to Vonitsa's beach by a rustic stone bridge. Then, explore the medieval castle looming over Vonitsa for breathtaking views over the Gulf of Ambraikikos. After, there's free time when you can try local cuisine at a seaside taverna or shop at the lively open market, before a quick stop on Plaka beach on your return.
