London Transport Museum, the world's leading museum of urban transport, invites you to join our expert guides to discover the secrets of the area around Theatreland, Covent Garden, Kingsway, and the Embankment.
This walking tour reveals little known facts about the area that were pulled straight from our archives, including the story of Convent Garden (as it was originally known), and how London’s first professional police force was born. You’ll also find out how well-known streets shaped London’s transport systems, from the construction of the Piccadilly line and Kingsway Tram Tunnel to the building of the Elizabeth line in the 2010s.
