Experience The British Museum on my private 2 1/2 hour tour for families, which offers a very different experience from a traditional walk-and-talk around the glass cases. My tour is specially designed for families with children of various ages and, while the content is informative for the grown-ups, I offer the younger family members a 'treasure-trail' format around some of the Museum's major highlights. The challenges include reading hieroglyphs with the help of the famous Rosetta stone, exploring Egyptian beliefs in gods and the rituals associated with life and death against a backdrop of Mummies, playing the ancient game of Ur, learning new things about chess with the help of the ancient Lewis chessmen and re-discovering buried treasure, including Roman silver and a King’s helmet from the Dark Ages Sutton Hoo ship burial. My interactive tour is perfect for parents with kids who want to explore and learn in a stimulating way, in fast-moving and different 'bite-sized' sections.
