This Jane Austen tour of Bath will feature Jane’s visits to Bath and five years of residence from 1801-1806 in the city of Bath, with reference to her two ‘Bath novels’ – Northanger Abbey and Persuasion. The tour will focus on what she and her characters got up to and where within the city. In this 2.5-hour walk, you will see many of the principal Jane sites including her family home and other key locations around Bath such as the Pump Room, Bathing Establishments, Pulteney Bridge, Great Pulteney Street, Queen Square, the Circus, the Royal Crescent and Gravel Walk as well as the interior of the Assembly Rooms. You'll be able to recognize many of these locations from many screen adaptations of her novels too. Your guide is a Jane Austen enthusiast and has a lifelong enthusiasm for the architectural and social history of Bath so you'll be able to ask any questions about present-day Bath, shopping, eating and drinking and share your enthusiasm and interest for Jane Austen!
