What To Expect
Korouoma is millions of years old fracture valley in the bedrock. At the center of the valley, it forms a magnificent gorge that drops over 100 meters below its surrounding terrain. It is the main place for ice climbing in the winter but offers much beauty throughout all seasons.
During the summer and fall seasons one may encounter abundant wild animals and floral life with stunning views of the Finnish landscapes. Be on the lookout for natural delicious berries and mushrooms!
The changing altitudes may be a little demanding where fitness level is categorized as easy-moderate. The whole hiking trail (30km) Korouma offers is classified as demanding but this day trip will go on the easier nationally acclaimed ~5km hiking trail. If you are capable of walking up and down, then you can go on this easier hike. During lunch time your guide will demonstrate how to start a fire the Lappish way for your BBQ. Charge your cameras and be ready for Korouma Canyon’s nature.

Specialized infant seats are available. Public transportation options are available nearby. Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller. Service animals allowed. Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health. Suitable for all physical fitness levels. Animals or pets allowed. Meeting time of our safari is always before the starting time of the safari if you need pick-up services. You will receive your meeting time and meeting point upon confirmation or by e-mail. Failure to participate in the safari due to missed meeting time or meeting point will not be refunded.. Operated in Rovaniemi each year between May to November (weather permitting). The minimum number of participants for each safari is 2 full paying adults’ price.. Pick up service is included if the distance from pick up point to Sunny Safari Office is within 8km.. Please let us know in advance when you book the safari if you have special dietary requirements. (Eg: vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.). Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and shoes according to the weather. Raincoats and rubber boots are recommended on rainy days.

Pick up services from & to the accommodation within 800 meters to 8 kilometers from Sunny Safari office (Ainonkatu 3, 96200 Rovaniemi) are included. Meeting time is always before the starting time of the safari if you need pick-up services. You will receive your meeting point & time upon confirmation. Failure to participate in the safari due to missed meeting point or meeting time will not be refunded. If you need pick up from hotels, please meet the guide at your hotel reception on time. If you need pick up from Airbnb accommodation, please meet the guide outside of your apartment building on time. The guide wears an orange hat.
