Little Rome was the first Roman city built outside Italy in 206 BC by the general Publius Cornelius Scipio Scipio, the African. A city that saw the birth of two Roman emperors, Trajan and Hadrian, where luxury and the "simulacra romae" were enjoyed. We will walk through its ancient streets with our guide who will help us to interpret and get to know the whole enclave. We will also discover amazing mosaics, the Traianeum, the ancient major baths and its famous amphitheatre. It is the third largest in the world, where the famous gladiator fights took place and has been the setting for the popular series Game of Thrones. Its Roman theatre, discovered in the mid-20th century, is undoubtedly one of the best preserved in Europe, where plays are still being performed.
After visiting this enclave we will go to the monastery of San Isidoro del Campo, a medieval fortress. We will finish in a traditional winery, where we will enjoy a wine tasting.
