From Seville: Merida full day tour, Heritage World City

After hotel pickup, we will transfer to Merida on a comfortable tour making stop on route.

The city of Mérida has an important Roman architectural legacy of the first order. Very close to Seville, we can enjoy a very complete tour as a complement to our visit to Andalusia.

After picking up at the hotel, we will move to Mérida making a brief stop en route. Upon arrival, we visit the Roman amphitheater and theater,

The construction of both was planned so that they were next to each other. According to their inscriptions, they were inaugurated in 8 BC.

With this work the project of the founding of the city was completed. Augusta Emerita, already capital of the province of Lusitania, had a large public area according to its political and administrative category.

At the end, we continue with the guided tour of the historic center on an urban walk, visiting the Temple of Diana, the Arch of Trajan and the Plaza Mayor. After lunch, we will visit at the Aqueduct of Miracles, an impressive work of civil engineering that transported water to the city.
