After more than a century as the home of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, an ambitious restoration project following the transfer of all healthcare activities to the new hospital has restored the cultural and artistic glories of the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site. The restoration is considered the most important work of Catalan architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner and it was declared World Heritage by Unesco in 1997.During the visit you can see the Sant Salvador Pavilion, summarising the history of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, and a tribute to the figure and the work of Lluís Domènech i Montaner. You will also visit the Sant Rafael Pavilion, where you can take a journey in time through a historical recreation of what a hospital ward was like in the 1920s. the outdoor spaces of the Art Nouveau Site, reproducing the garden city model designed in the early 20th century. As you stroll around the gardens, take in the beauty of the buildings’ exteriors and in the end, you can visit the more representative and most richly ornamented heritage spaces of the Administration Pavilion.
