The Neckar valley has always fascinated American visitors and besides Henry Ford, who visited the "Rainbach", Mark Twain spent a long time in Heidelberg and the Neckar valley, which he described in his book "A Tramp Abroad" amusingly. The tour in the Neckar valley will convince you that it is just as beautiful as Heidelberg.
You will start the tour by driving along the Neckar to Neckarsteinach with a view of the city's four castles. Afterwards you cross the Neckar at the weir of the lock and drive up to Dilsberg, a medieval small town with impressive fortress ruins, a massive city wall and a historic town center.
At Dilsberg you can also enjoy a fantastic view over fields and forests up to the Kraichgauer Land. Then you will drive back to the Neckar river, past the Lohmühle mill to Rainbach and back to the starting point.
