Prague holds a very special place in Jewish tradition. Today, Prague's historic Jewish Town is the best preserved complex of Jewish monuments in all of Europe. The Jewish town and its Jewish Museum in Prague miraculously survived WWII giving us the unique opportunity to see the region’s most extensive collection of Judaica including silver, glass, textiles, manuscripts, and other rare, precious objects.
The tour offers insight into the 1000 years of history of the Jewish people in the territory of the Czech Lands and a walk in the interiors of four historical synagogues and the famous Ceremonial Hall.
We will also visit the Old Jewish cemetery, one of the most famous cemeteries in the world, which was founded in the middle of the 15th century and within its walls contain some key figures not only in the history of Josefov, but in all of Central Europe.
During this three hour tour, you will learn the history of the Jewish ghetto with its repeated rise and fall.
