This tour can be done independently of the self-guided tour to Cartagena Fortress: The Rise of the Wall Part I. The voice of Antonio Arévalo, one of the builders of the fortress, is your narrator on this special audio walk. He embarks on a journey back in time to show you the walls of Cartagena, with special commentary on the engineering marvels that were designed to protect the city from pirate attacks. Your tour begins just outside the Bovedas, where you'll learn how they were used as Republican prisons in colonial times and now serve as an exhibition space and selling point for handicrafts from all over Colombia. You will walk on the wall and discover the Santa Clara bastion and see the house of Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Your narrator will ask you questions along the way and make everything you learn about the architectural elements entertaining and exciting. You will hear the poem by Daniel Lemaitre that inspired the monument that you can see from this place.
