In the national aviary you will be guided through the modern and representative display of birdlife in natural environments, you will know the Colombian diversity which is the first country in diversity of bird species in the world. Colombia has almost 20% of species identified worldwide. It currently has 1,913 species, of which 76 are endemic.
This aviary contains 170 native bird species, 20 exotic bird species, and 2000 specimens. Three endemic species: Paujil piquiazul (Crax Alberti), Caribbean Guacharaca (Ortalis garrula), and the Colombian Guacharaca (Ortalis columbiana).
It has three species conservation and preservation programs
threatened: Condor of the Andes, Aguila arpia, paujil piquiazul.
Three ecosystem environments: Tropical rainforest, coastal, and desert
And four special environments: Condor of the Andes, herons and storks, lake of migratory birds, and exotic birds.
Wheelchair accessible. Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller. Service animals allowed. Infants are required to sit on an adult’s lap. All areas and surfaces are wheelchair accessible. Suitable for all physical fitness levels
