Guqin is a plucked seven-string Chinese musical instrument of the zither family. It has more than 2000 years of history. Guqin had traditionally been favored by scholars and literati in ancient China. Although it was very popular in ancient Chinese daily life, most of the Chinese people are not familiar with Guqin nowadays, it is gradually returning to the public's vision since the appearance at the 2008 Olympic opening ceremony.
