+12 photos
Barra do Cunhaú about 90km from Natal, a place that brings together natural beauties of the region such as sea of crystal clear waters, rivers, dunes, mangoes. There are two rivers in the region that discharge into the sea: the Catú River and the Curimataú River, which form an extensive mangrove vegetation providing a diversity of coastal fauna and flora. In the region there is a must-see tour that is done by boat (optional), lasts an average of two and a half hours passing through mangroves where it is possible to see the crab fishing. The tour also includes a bath stop on Restinga Island, a semi-desert beach with dunes and beach tents. Rio Grande do Norte is the second largest producer of shrimp in Brazil and holds the largest cultivated area in Brazilian territory. The place also has religious importance, the so-called "Mártires de Cunhaú and Uruaçu" the youngest Brazilian saints.
