What To Expect
Rio’s highest peak, Pico da Tijuca (1022m – 3353ft) is located in the middle of the Tijuca Forest, and overlooks most of the city. It is also considered one of the best trails in Rio de Janeiro.
Our tour starts with a visitation to Taunay Waterfall (Rio's largest), inside Tijuca's Forest National Park.
It is one of the greatest Eco spots of Rio, covered by Atlantic Rainforest with beautiful flora and fauna and many waterfalls, rivers and lakes, caves, mountains.
The trail to Pico da Tijuca starts at the idyllic Bom Retiro, a place up in the park, and lasts no more than one hour to reach the summit.
From there, we have a wonderful view of most of Tijuca's Forest, landmarks, besides the Maracanã Stadium, Guanabara Bay and a lot more.
This is the traditional Tijuca Forest tour with a hike to the highest mountain in Rio de Janeiro!

Important info
Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries. Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health. Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness. Recommendations: wear light clothing and hiking shoes, bring a small backpack with water, snacks, mosquito repellent, sunscreen, cap or hat, sunglasses and cash for extras.. Hike duration: 2 hours (approx. 1h way up / 1h way down).. Hike length: 5 km / 3,1 miles (round trip / total). Vista Chinesa (Chinese Belvedere) - visitation only in weekdays, except local holidays.. Pickups outside these areas (South Zone of Rio) will have an additional charge. . Pickup times vary by location and will be shared a few days before via WhatsApp or email. Please wait in the lobby..
