In addition to being the starting point for the climb to Sugarloaf Mountain, Urca neighborhood is home to other attractions such as Forte de São João (St. John Fort) and Praia Vermelha (Red beach), one of the most beautiful beaches in the city.
Hike until the top Morro da Urca, and see native trees such as redwood and fig trees. Wild animals can also often be seen, such as marmosets and birds Tiê-blood – bird symbol of the Atlantic Forest.
From the top of Morro da Urca, you will take the Sugarloaf Cable Car and go up to Sugarloaf mountain, where you have a 360º view of the city.
After the visit, stroll around the historic district and finish your tour with an authentic Carioca happy hour at Mureta da Urca with a spectacular view of Christ, the Redeemer, tasting a beer, and some of the famous Brazilian snacks, like pastel and empada.
