Lake Itaipu Bike Experience: Ride along the banks of the Lake

By car (transfer) we will go to the rural community Alto da Boa Vista, where we will access Lake Itaipu.

Here we begin the bike ride, pedaling through trails, where we can bathe in the reservoir.

The immense reservoir is formed by the Itaipu power plant, the largest energy producer in the world.

There is a riparian forest in the area, which serves as support for the regional fauna and flora, where we will pass by bicycle.

This reservoir protection strip reduces erosion, silting and lake pollution, as it becomes a barrier against runoff and wind.

The average width is 208 meters, and the length reaches 2,900 km on both banks (Brazilian and Paraguayan).
