Ohrid Day Tour and Authentic Village from Tirana or Durres

According to UNESCO, the town of Ohrid is one of the oldest human settlements in Europe. It lies on the shores of Lake Ohrid—one of the oldest and deepest lakes in the world. For centuries, this remarkable town has been a crossroads of cultures, traditions, and historical influences, shaped by various civilizations and invasions throughout time. Often referred to as the “Jerusalem of the Balkans,” Ohrid has played a pivotal role in the spread of Slavic Orthodoxy. At its peak, it was home to 365 churches—one for each day of the year—many of which date back to the 11th century and still stand as architectural and spiritual landmarks. As part of our tour, we also make a stop in a nearby traditional mountain village. Nestled at the base of the Jablanica mountains, this hidden gem offers a peaceful escape into nature, with cobblestone paths, fresh mountain springs, and an authentic glimpse into rural life in North Macedonia.
